Winter- Youth Basketball League
2026 MLK Youth Basketball Classic
Join us in honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. for our annual MLK Youth Basketball Classic. Boys & girls in grades 5th-8th will play in a game made up of players from Talbot, Caroline, and Dorchester Counties. Participants will receive a shirt, gift, and free lunch and can participate in 3-point, free throw, and half court shooting contests.
Registration Deadline: December 19th, 2025.
Games will be played at Talbot County Community Center. Doors open at 8:00 am for the opening ceremonies. Games begin at 9:00 am.
NEW The Elks Hoop Shoot local free throw contest will be held at the end of the day (approximately 2:30 pm). We will have winners from 6 age groups. Each winner will receive a trophy and will advance to the district competition. Winners can then advance to state, regional, and national competitions! No pre-registration is needed for the Hoop Shoot Competition. Open to ages 8-12.
Youth Basketball League 2026 – Winter
The Talbot Youth Basketball League is available to boys’ and girls’ grades 1st-8th. 1st & 2nd grade IS a coed league, the other age groups are not. Each team will practice one evening per week followed by games on Saturdays for 8 weeks. Each player will receive a team jersey.
Practice & Games will be held at the Talbot County Community Center!

Registration Deadline: Friday, December 5th, 2025
- Fee: $85 per player ($20 Late Fee)
- Who: Grades 1st-8th
- Where: Talbot County Community Center
- Evaluations: Wednesday, December 10th (5th-6th grade boys, 7th-8th grade boys, 5th-6th grade girls, and 7th-8th grade girls ONLY)
- Practices Begin: The week of December 15th
- Games Begin: January 10th, 2026
Players will be drafted to teams. To be drafted on a team, you must attend the player evaluations on 12/10/25. All those that do not attend the evaluations will be randomly assigned to a team. Requests will NOT be accepted. Adjustments will NOT be made once team selection has been completed.
Fall- Start Smart Basketball
Start Smart Basketball
Join us this fall for a 6-week introduction to the world of basketball! Start Smart Basketball is designed for children eager to learn the fundamentals of basketball in a fun and supportive environment.
Registration Deadline: Friday, September 26th

Summer- Youth Basketball Clinic
Youth Basketball Clinic
The clinic is for boys and girls of all levels who want to learn or extend their on-court skills. Basic fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing, offense, defense, and footwork will be emphasized as well as proper conditioning for the sport of basketball during this 6-lesson clinic.
